How to Pay for Your Trip to Thailand by Smart Shopping

Clothes

Thailand is famous for Thai silk, ceramics, bronzeware, pewterware, lacquerware, furniture and housewares, gems, gold, pearls & jewelry. Thai antiques, paintings and handicrafts.

There are many tailors on Phuket so remember to bring any clothing favorites or designs you would like made. The tailors carry everything from Thai silk to European linen and wool fabrics. There are also plenty clothing stores with ready made clothing. The tailors are Indian and speak reasonable English, they employ Thai workers.

For example...

You can get 1 x Tailor Made Suit, 2 x Shirts 2 x Ties = US$150, and tailored shirts for about US$30. However the quality will be average. Better to pay extra and choose something from the "Armaini Catalog" and have that suit made of best fabric for about US$250 (worth at least US$1,000.)

Our tailor is also giving a 10% discount to all attendees and clothes ordered on Friday will be ready Sunday. We will give you the opportunity on the first day so you can be measured.

Save a fortune and come home with a tailor made wardrobe!

Thailand is also famous for massages, I get at least one,  1 hour massage per day. Cost is only about US$10 and well worth it. Plan on a massage (or two!) a day if so inclined.

Manicures and pedicures are fantastic and very cheap. They come with or without a Foot massage. These are a "must do" in Thailand!

Shopping ranges from street markets to designer Malls to rival Singapore and Dubai.

Thailand Pharmacies

Pharmacies in Thailand / Phuket are modern with trained staff and lot's of
medicine. Some things are much cheaper in Thailand and you often don't need to
have a prescription, just the name of what you need and how many milligrams.
It is very advisable to know the generic name of your medicine, for example..

Prozac = (fluoxetine)
It is not unheard of that a visitor pays for their entire trip to Thailand with their savings on medicines.
(Be sure to be very well informed about your needs and ask your doctor before or after your visit)
Optometrists

Above is a typical optometrist in Phuket / Patong Beach.
If you wear glasses or contacts and need any new ones,
these are often half price. You can save big $$.

Phone Stores

I Bought a car charger for my Nokia 610 and it was 200 BHT (US$6)
and I thought that was good (Perth = A$29.95.)
Then I bought a standard "wall charger" with my plug size

(110 v - 240v) that is A$39.95 in Perth, and it was also 200BHT (US$6).
This is a huge saving. I saved US$56 just on those two items.
Also, when I get to Thailand I just pick up a SIM card from a shop.
I then have a Thai telephone number (that you charge up by
buying cards in convenience stores) and calls are very cheap.
Most phones you buy in Thailand will work in other countries
that use the SIM card system.
